We built Prometheus to enable decision clarity and instantiate adaptive response.
For the past few years, the underwriters, risk executives, and portfolio managers I talk to keep describing the same problem in nearly the same words. There is no shortage of data. There is no shortage of tools — in fact, more of them spring up every year. The void that exists is cohesion and unification between these tools, the orchestration that would enable acceleratory action and reliable execution. Where the manual work persists, the result is consistent: reactivity and the resulting consequences of that reactivity.
At Neural Earth we use the word efficiency quite frequently, and workflow enablement that leads to speed to decision — that is the problem Prometheus was built to solve. Today, we are launching it. Read the full announcement here.
Prometheus is not a new model, and definitely not another point solution to bolt onto a multi-tool stack. It is a decision intelligence platform. The Bloomberg terminal of risk intelligence. It connects satellite imagery, environmental sensors, proprietary datasets, and third-party models into unified contextual awareness — a single, defensible answer. The questions that used to take days or weeks of manual assembly when applied at scale — “what is my exposure in this county?”, “how does each property in my portfolio perform against my underwriting thesis in the context of each peril?”, “where is concentration building in my portfolio today versus last week?” — now return a comprehensive, auditable answer in seconds.
The environment driving this is not subtle. Insured losses from natural catastrophe have topped $100 billion a year in the United States for several years running. Wildfire, flood, hurricane, and severe convective storm are not tail events — they are the reality of the operating environment. Acceleratory risk, the resulting physical damage, and the financial strain of recovery is felt in the homes of Americans and amplified in capital repricing overnight, regulatory thresholds tightening, and the rate of asset volatility change — only enhancing uncertainty and the need for adaptive response.
The cost of operating on fragmented data and a myriad of tools, the inefficiency it creates: slow decisions. It is inconsistent assumptions from one team to the next. It is capital deployed against an incomplete picture of risk. When the landscape can shift overnight, exposure becomes a foundation-shaking problem.
We built Prometheus to work the way a high-performing risk professional actually thinks: pulling data to derive signal from a myriad of sources, finding the relationships between these avenues of signal, and arriving at a decision with speed and conviction. GAIA, our conversational interface, puts that capability in the hands of the professional at the point of decision. Every underwriter and every analyst can ask a question in plain language and get the answer themselves, without waiting on anyone.
Prometheus works at any scale. A single parcel. A regional portfolio. A national book of business. The intelligence does not change. Only the scope of the question does.
We have been heads-down on this for a long time. The problems Prometheus solves are the ones I have heard described, in almost identical language, by some of the sharpest people in this industry. The data always existed. The ability to make sense of it — consistently, at speed, at the parcel — did not.
It does now.
